Welcome to Brooklyn, New York! Join us in discovering the city and learning the essential Williamsburg travel spots!

We came to Brooklyn, New York. We toured the area for an entire day, we visited one of the most famous record shops, the best restaurants and coffee shops. Moreover, we tried the world's most famous bagels. Also, we enjoyed the view of Manhattan and the New York sunset.

Looking through records at Rough Trade, Williamsburg

Record Stores

We began our tour by roaming around Williamsburg. It is full of really great shopping vintage stores, fabulous restaurants and cafes. We came to a pretty famous record store called Rough Trade. The original store started in London and it later opened a second location in Brooklyn. In the back of the store, there is a venue for live music and upstairs you will find ping-pong tables. If you are a fan of records and music, it is the place to go.

Colourful New York Bagels

New York Bagels and coffee

Since we are in New York, we figured we should try some bagels. These bagels are world famous, so we went for colourful bagels with garlic cream cheese. You may guess that the bagel would taste like candy, because of all the colors yet it is savoury and perfect with the cream cheese. It is absolutely delicious. Afterwards, we headed off to probably one of the coolest coffee shops we have ever been to, called Freehold for some much needed coffee.

Manhattan views from Williamsburg

Finding the best views of Manhattan

We decided to get an Uber and head over to Greenpoint which is just a little bit north of Williamsburg. Brooklyn is a fantastic city for obvious reasons, but one of the biggest perks about being over here is the views you get of Manhattan. After enjoying the wonderful view, we went to a place called Quinn Bird to get a drink. Then, we continued on our tour in the city. We noticed that Brooklyn is so different than Manhattan, not only in terms of views, but the vibe is entirely different. The streets are not crowded with people. It is easy to walk down here. Also, there are numerous abandoned buildings.

Southern Dinner

Where to eat in Williamsburg

After touring the city all day long, we were really hungry. So, we headed over to a place called Delaney’s Barbecue. We decided to order some turkey, pork ribs, mac and cheese, coleslaw and last but not least some cornbread. It was some of the best Southern food we have ever had. After the delicious feast, we went back to the hotel and we just stared at the view of the sunset. New York looks absolutely stunning.
